Tyler Scott grew up in Southern California. She wanted to do something great. She wanted to change the world. She worked as a philosophy tutor and then she got a job as an intern in D.C. for Representative and Majority Whip Steve Scalise (LA-01) in the Whip’s Office.
You might remember the congressman. He was a victim of a shooting on a baseball field in the summer of 2017.
Most D.C. offices receive and respond to about 10,000 emails and letters a month and they only have a staff of three or four people to handle that. So every person counts.
As an intern working on the inside, she saw how dedicated young people help constituents in the district from all walks of life. She knew and learned that Washington is about relationships.
Tyler followed her dream and was accepted into Santa Clara University where she pursued political science and pre-law. She recently took the LSAT and will be on her way to law school.
The issues she cares about most are animal's and children's rights.
We were fortunate enough to have Tyler work at iLobby as an intern where she is helping shape our upcoming release on the contest challenge at HeroX.
She is also helping us forge better relationships with lawmakers and getting the story out about how important it is to focus on issues and understand that behind the media hype and misinformation, politics is about real people, just like you and me.
